What If Life Could Feel a Bit Lighter?

There’s an old cedar tree that still lives in my memory.

I was just seven years old when a friend asked to talk with me privately. We sat at the far end of the schoolyard, in that tree, and she poured out her heart. What started that day became something of a tradition — students I knew, and many I didn’t, would come find me at recess or lunch to sit and talk. That tree became known as “Heather’s Tree.”

Even then, I was already doing the work I’d one day be called to — listening deeply, offering perspective, and holding space for others.

Listen deeply and hold space for others.

This August, I’m sharing a five-part newsletter series — five chapters I’ve written and published in 2002/2023 that reflect both my personal journey and some of the wisdom I’ve gained through coaching, conversation, and a whole lot of real life.

The first chapter, Heather’s Tree, tells the story of how I became a Life Management Coach. The final chapter, Taking Care of Yourself First, is a heartfelt invitation to prioritize your own well-being. In between, you’ll find reflections on:

  • What gets in the way of taking action,

  • How to navigate the rollercoaster of motivation,

  • The surprising impact of the way we speak to ourselves

Prioritize your own well-being.

This series isn’t fluffy. It’s real. It’s honest. And it’s for women who are navigating change, or just living life — whether in their careers, relationships, health, purpose, or simply how they see themselves. My hope is that each chapter helps you pause, reflect, and reconnect with your own strength and wisdom.

The first newsletter — Heather’s Tree — arrives this Friday, August 1.
